In Which Electra Has a Feeling

April 5, 1156

Almost three months, Electra counted. Two months, three weeks, and five days, to be precise, since she had slept with Florian.

Also, it had been three months and four days since the last time she'd bled.

She didn't really know what to think of this. On one hand, she had always wanted a baby of her own.

On the other, Evera would be enough to care for when Florian died.

And then of course, there was the fact that she had already lost five babies and she didn't know if she could bear to lose a sixth.

Nevertheless, she couldn't help but smile. She knew she had no reason to... but at the same, time there was this nagging feeling that just kept tugging at her heart, reassuring her, willing her to realize that everything was going to be just fine.

Maybe she was just telling herself what she wanted to hear. Or maybe she was just crazy.

But then again, maybe she wasn't.

"Don't you worry, my love," she cooed fondly, placing one hand on her slightly swollen belly. "You'll be just fine come October; I can feel it."

And so concludes my shortest post to date. I apologize for the length of this (or lack of therefore), but I figured this was just one of those posts that was better kept short and sweet.

Does Florian know that Electra is pregnant?

Oh wow, that was crazy fast :)

Now that I think about it, I'm not sure whether he does or not. I can see Electra trying to hide the pregnancy from him so as not to worry him, but I think he'd have his suspicions anyway. So either he knows Electra is pregnant, or he thinks she is. Regardless, it's not going to be any big surprise to him.

OUCH!

I'm officially glad for Electra though. A baby of her own, as she said. What will become of her if/when Florian dies though? Can she go along on her own with two babies to raise?

I think she'd ultimately be okay with the two babies. She lives in Octavius's shire, and he's a big teddy bear and would probably take pity on her (the Naroni lords still have few enough tenants to deal with them all on a personal level), send her a nurse to help watch the babies, give her some care packages, etc, and Severin and Alina would probably chip in too. Plus I'm sure Arydath would be more than willing to help her, as would Thetis when she can get away from her husband.

But hopefully we won't have to worry about that :)

I think the most shocking thing about her statement was the "when Florian died" instead of "if". It's like she's just waiting for it.

She's dreading it, but she's accepted it as inevitable, so the way she sees it, it's only a matter of time. She may yet be proven wrong, though...
